New safety regulations have significantly impacted the field service industry and many other offline sectors. Most field service companies have made ensuring the safety and health of their personnel and customers a top priority.
FREMONT, CA: The Covid-19 outbreak and its long-term consequences have impacted the way corporations react to a constantly changing world. According to a CGS poll, field service providers are no exception: over half of field service industry respondents said their plans for 2020 had changed considerably as a result of the pandemic. Field service organizations have encountered industry-specific hurdles in addition to common issues like anti-covid prohibitions and supply chain interruptions that have afflicted most enterprises.

Increased demand, reduced workforce
With so many individuals staying at home during the epidemic, field service providers have seen an increase in demand, which is unsurprising given that they are more likely to suffer troubles than usual, much alone the fact that many businesses had to put field operations on pause. At the same time, 41 percent of businesses had to deal with a reduced staff due to quarantine regulations, sick personnel, or layoffs. As a result, fewer specialists were available to work in the field, therefore businesses wanted to increase their productivity while maintaining their safety.
Maintaining high-quality standards
Maintaining quality standards is critical, despite the overall insecurity. Businesses that fail to provide high-quality service even when circumstances are challenging will be less successful in the long run. It can be difficult since providing excellent service requires carefully orchestrating a considerable number of procedures and ensuring that each operates smoothly. Furthermore, clients may be more emotional and sensitive to stress during times of crisis, leaving less space for error.
Ensuring the safety of employees and customers
New safety regulations have had a significant impact on the field service industry, as they have on many other offline industries. As a result, most field service companies have made ensuring the safety and health of their personnel and customers a top priority. Businesses that continue to provide on-site services have various obstacles, including providing personnel with protective gear and sanitizers, reducing service times, raising first-time fix rates, and reducing the need for follow-ups.
