The case study of a major service provider who opted for Viavi's Solutions to reduce some of the cost challenges associated with fiber to the home (FTTH) deployment for consumers is the perfect example of the company proficiency. FTTH network construction is not only costly but also significantly multiplies the number of optical connections in a network, making it difficult manage.

This client in question was burdened with fiber related issues that resulted from improper installation and poor fiber handling practices and client servicing alongside ineffective service provisioning. With VIAVI onboard, the service provider could certify the quality of the fiber installation, accelerate service provision, and reduce the mean time to address client requests. The provider selected the Viavi ONMSi Optical Network Monitoring System for PON. ONMSi can automatically test fiber and detect and locate fiber faults centrally without having to dispatch technicians into the field. By placing remote optical test units at different central office locations, the system is able to certify the fiber installation, enable fiber test for provisioning, and reduce the time needed to understand customer faults.

Negating all Network Challenges

When it comes to network performance, here too the company nails it. VIAVI's network performance monitoring and diagnostics (NPMD) measure, quantify, and report on relevant metrics related to all IT resources.
