SUYIN
Giving Wings to Your Ideas

Tibor Kovacs, Managing director With precision and freedom to design at the crux of their production process, Suyin has developed a ‘Suyin Product Development Process’ or SPDP, “SPDP is a string of precisely timed and well-communicated tasks that need to be fulfilled by every department to make a product,” says Kovacs. It establishes a framework within which Suyin conducts every production process. The entire process, beginning from the RFQ and quotation till the delivery of the product, is custom made. Customizing industry standard catalogue products is one of the services, but on most occasions an entirely new product is designed. They make their tooling in-house and build their production automation lines, each dedicated to individual products. An ISO 17025 certified independent quality lab is set up to ensure the precision of the product. By not adhering to standard production processes, Suyin secures total production capacity for an individual customer. This approach sets them apart from the big manufacturers who rarely offer custom-made products and cannot change their processes on command.
Unlike big companies, Suyin does not showcase a primary offering. They take pride in being a service company that moved to the production of automotive connectors. This does not mean that they offer limited products. Their production covers connectors for safety modules, interior as well as exterior lighting, and roof console control modules. To keep up with the e-mobility boom, Suyin has added connectors for battery management, high current charging, AC DC inverters, and DC-DC converters into its product offerings.
Matrickz offers BSW integration, Communication Stack, Memory Stack, Configuration of different services for DCM modules, DaVinci Developer, and many more.
Overcoming Roadblocks during the Pandemic
The pandemic changed the course of various industries in our world, including the manufacturing sector, which is still reeling from the loss incurred. Manufacturing units shut down, supply chains were disrupted, and labour became scarce, but Suyin was unscathed. To overcome these challenges, they considered each production order as a project by itself, aiding in an uninterrupted production process. It also helped them find solutions for problems individually. If there was any delay or changes in the production process, the clients immediately communicated information. With a well-organized, custom-made process in place, they continued with their production, expecting a sudden increase in demand when things got better. In one instance, a customer’s demand increased three times that of the forecasted output quantity. An unforeseen circumstance posed a massive roadblock for both the parties involved. Suyin took up the challenge. They modified the production process by changing the reel packaging system from heat-sealed to self-adhesive tape, which increased the line output by 30 per cent. Achieving this with such short notice was a big win for them, but they did not stop there. With their sights set on a long-term solution, they first analyzed the whole process to find bottlenecks. As a result, parallel processing units were implemented instead of adding additional production lines, which would take ten weeks and considerably increase investment costs. With the parallel processing units in place, Suyin was able to meet the 200 per cent increase in demand and reduce the turnaround time from 10 to 6 weeks.

As restrictions were placed on international travel, Suyin’s clients were restricted from conducting on-site audits of the production process as the factories were in China. To solve the problem, a unique service was offered where they live-streamed the entire production allowing their clients to conduct on-site audits remotely. Alternatively, they allowed clients the flexibility to choose from a group of globally recognized third-party auditing firms to conduct audits on their behalf. Suyin offered all of this at a reduced or no cost.
What’s next for Suyin?
Establishing themselves as a key player in the market, Suyin is looking to help E-mobility startups. One of their single biggest customers is an E-mobility startup in the charging infrastructure sector which Suyin supported from the ground up and is now skyrocketing. With the vision of being the number one choice for custom-made connectors, Suyin is looking to further grow in the automotive sector. “You can do it for having more turnovers, more profit, and so on. But the real value comes from investing into our vision which is to accelerate the technical progress to increase quality, sustainability and safety in life.” concludes Kovacs.
