AI and machine learning have a big role to play in the year ahead, as many other businesses and innovations. There is a strong potential for simulation to use AI and machine learning to complete simple processes and administration to save time or simplify procedures for engineers. One such field is the setting of parameters.A machine learning engine can track the use of simulation instruments by senior engineers, including how they use it and what parameters they set, to then replicate this accurately to a degree for less experienced engineers and allow them to use the tool.

AI and machine learning can make it more available for an aerospace company with hundreds, perhaps thousands of employees, of which only 5 percent can actually use simulation technology, so maybe 15-20 percent of employees will use it. Clearly, for that company, which can now devote more time and energy to the simulation process, without the need to recruit more senior engineers, this is a win.
