Carmakers can no longer afford to ignore alternative fuels and will need to make concerted efforts to meet the demand for vehicles that are fuel-efficient and do not use any fuel at all.
FREMONT, CA: Coming into 2021, every segment of the automobile industry will face significant headwinds and will need to adjust to new market realities. Other requirements must be addressed in addition to the issues raised by the pandemic. The automotive industry is confronted with four key challenges at present:
Demand for Independent Traders

Demand for independent motor traders is also expected to rise. While demand for new vehicles was higher than projected in 2020, the market is expected to shrink this year. This is also an excellent moment to start a business as an independent auto dealer. Those who want to go down that road should start looking at the costs, particularly insurance.
Alternative Fuel Vehicles
Carmakers can no longer afford to ignore alternative fuels and will need to make concerted efforts to meet the demand for vehicles that are fuel-efficient and do not use any fuel at all. Every day, a deluge of information on new vehicle technology and the effects of fossil fuels on the environment is released. But, unfortunately, this dispute isn't going away anytime soon, and it's only going to get worse over the next decade.
New Regulations
If we go by unit sales, China holds the world's largest auto market. So the question for automakers today is whether or not they should consider entering the market and competing. The government is under tremendous pressure to reduce pollution, and the car sector is fiercely competitive. Not to mention the arbitrary and sometimes spontaneous tariffs that can be applied at any time. So carmakers must decide whether the risk is worthwhile or whether they should focus on domestic demand.
