Fremont, CA: London-based venture capital firm, Talis Capital, announced three promotions within the investment team. Tom Williams has been promoted to the role of Partner, while Beatrice Aliprandi and Kirill Tasilov will be taking up the role of Principal. The promotions come at a crucial time as Talis looks forward to the next funding round in 2021. Aliprandi has been promoted to the role of Principal after joining the company in 2018 as Senior Analyst. Previously she served at Jefferies Investment Bank for three years. During her time at Talis, she has sourced and led deals in construction marketplace Construyo, digital hospital Medbelle and hair brand Bleach London.
“It has been great to see how Tom, Beatrice and Kirill have matured into seasoned venture investors at Talis. There are two key factors to their success – the first is their individual abilities and skills they’ve developed. The second one is the culture at Talis that allows our team to take on as much responsibility and as early as they can carry, and this has proven to be a great model for right talent that we have sourced. We are immensely proud of the talent that we see and cultivate at Talis, and these promotions represent the real dedication and hard work that every individual brings to their roles, as well as the progression and growth that Talis has seen over the past few years,” said VasileFoca, co-founder and managing partner.
Tasilov joined Talis in 2018 as an Analyst after graduating from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He has focused on consumer internet and enterprise software at Talis, while also leading deals in real estate investment platform IMMO, publishing marketplace Reedsy, and Zyper, a software company which enables brands to connect with its real fans. Williams joined the company in 2013 as an Analyst and has been crucial to the growth of the company and the development of its investment thesis, overseeing deals including Darktrace and Onfido, and working closely with companies including iwoca, Premfina, and Learning People.
