Nord Modules Launches Pallet Mover PM 1500 Application to Automate Heavy Payload

By CIO Applications Europe| Tuesday, April 02, 2019
Tweet

Nord Modules, an Odense, Denmark-based company that provides automation solution for logistics companies, launches an application, The Pallet Mover PM 1500 to automate heavy payload transportation. The app allows autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to transport pallets, which helps in connecting production lines and internal logistics.

The PM 1500 application enables Nord Modules to expand its portfolio with enhanced capacity for heavy payload transportation of up to 3306 lbs. The Pallet Mover application is in line with the company’s product portfolio of flexible material-moving modules that efficiently connect production lines and internal logistics using autonomous mobile robots (AMR). The application is an industrial-quality solution that enhances the automated heavy-payload transportation of multiple pallet sizes between production lines and storage systems.

The PM 1500 is a safe and ready-to-use application that mounts on the MiR500 Robot to pick-up and transport pallets from the production lines. The application offers automatic centre placement of half pallets through an integrated fully electric sensor-system, which is used to detect the placement of a pallet and transfer the information to the control system. The integrated technology of Nord Modules allows the application to use infrared signals for communication to external roller conveyors, which provides readiness for a pick-up or delivery of a pallet. The PM 1500 also offers integrated pallet locking function to enable safe driving with a heavy load, and the fully automated and flexible locking function allows the fixing of various pallet sizes.

Nord Modules is the provider of industrial automation that designs and develops flexible modules and applications for MiR’s mobile robots, helping logistics companies to connect mobile robots with production lines. The company’s robust solutions bring the automation of internal logistics to a higher level.  Nord Modules provides safe, high-quality, standard-gate module and applications with adds value to the mobile robots by enhancing automated heavy-payload transportation between production lines and storage systems. The company also enables companies to use the same mobile robot for multiple tasks.
