Klas' field-proven operating system, KlasOS Keel, powers the TRX D8's compute feature. Keel is designed for edge locations where security and reliability are important, and it includes a built-in hypervisor that allows OEMs to run their own software while maintaining full control over their data.
Fremont, CA: Klas, a global leader in edge intelligence solutions, has declared an all-new piece of hardware purpose-built for autonomous vehicle research & development: the TRX D8. The TRX D8 is ruggedized in-vehicle storage and compute system designed specifically for recording the vast quantities of data collected during autonomous vehicle drive testing. This is important for engineers to properly evaluate and fine-tune algorithms in the R&D phase so that they can eventually bring healthy autonomous vehicles to market.

Klas' extensive experience in designing edge computing solutions for government and rail applications was critical to its success in developing the TRX D8, which is already in the market with a leading automotive OEM and features a robust and lightweight design that has been proven to work in extreme environments. The new TRX D8 gathers data from onboard Ethernet and Controller Area Networks (CAN) and can store up to 240 TB of data in a single, easily removable cassette.
