Is IBM Hybrid Cloud the Holy Grail for European Startups?

By CIO Applications Europe| Tuesday, September 17, 2019

Businesses can certainly make the best out of both public and private clouds, and that's precisely what IBM Hybrid Cloud delivers to the European entrants.

FREMONT, CA: Hybrid cloud developments have become a popular choice among enterprises today. Companies are migrating to the cloud at an increasing rate across the globe. At the forefront of this move are startups in Europe. IBM is writing a new chapter of business transformation using hybrid cloud together with those entrants. Companies across Europe are working with IBM to put the hybrid cloud infrastructure in line and accelerate future business innovations. Enterprises are now embracing the hybrid cloud approach to enable greater flexibility and application modernisation. It's hybrid multi-management feature provides enhanced operational agility and power to identify, analyse, and respond to changes in mixed cloud environments.

The age-old idea that everything would move to the public cloud is changed with IBM cloud innovations, and the cloud market has evolved to meet the needs of companies which wish to maintain on-premise systems. The mix of public and private infrastructure in a hybrid cloud environment depends on enterprise requirements. Firms with variable computing needs often do well with IBM Hybrid Cloud due to the scalability that is offered. Startups who aspire to remain agile and quickly respond to fast-changing markets are reaping benefits from IBM Cloud infrastructure. Here is a closer look at European startups and the factors which help them decide that IBM Hybrid Cloud would be the best cloud set up option for their business.

Blockchain Solution -based digital ID solution provider, Blinking has created an online verification method using IBM Hybrid Cloud, eliminating tedious waiting in long queues and enabling validated web and mobile transactions for customers. When compared to purchasing, configuring, and managing on-premise solutions, the company's solutions using IBM Cloud dramatically lowers the cost of running; it also significantly reduced the time taken. IBM technical expertise eliminates the risk of errors during the setup. Many of Blinking's prospective customers already run on IBM solutions, and this offers considerable marketing power that helps the company promote its offering to a range of financial institutions across Europe.

Check Out: Top Enterprise Tech Startups

A Hungarian startup HeartBit has teamed up with IBM to build the back-end for its path-breaking wearable ECG device. The system captures data from its device, transmit it to the IBM Cloud via a mobile application. The data stored is later analysed using the latest artificial intelligence technologies. HeartBit selects IBM Hybrid Cloud services due to the high levels of security and its leadership in data privacy. To make its dream a reality, the company has embraced IBM Cloud and is offering fitness plans tailored to users' unique physiology and external conditions.

With thousands of talented candidates in the employment market, companies are looking for ways to quickly and cost-efficiently identify applicants with the best fit for a particular role. Indivizo—helping companies hire high potential candidates with data-driven recruitment solutions —is using IBM Hybrid Cloud Solution to analyse video interviews with job applicants. With IBM cloud, the company is able to create personality profiles that provide the human resource department with additional insights about a candidate's suitability for a given position.

A Croatian international startup, Careesma.co has used IBM Hybrid Cloud to develop a digital assistant called Smarty. Here, IBM Cloud helps the firm to build a solution that understands natural language input and uses machine learning to respond to customers in a way that stimulates a conversation between humans. Careesma is a budding startup, and IBM Cloud service provides a powerful toolset to developers which allows it to create innovative business models and unique customer services.

The hybrid cloud market is proliferating, and its increasing popularity among European startups reflects its strength. Startups find value in IBM's open approach to cloud computing, coupled with its deep industry expertise. By choosing IBM Hybrid Cloud, entrants can do much more than just cutting costs. By tapping into new cloud-based services, they can innovate new business models and develop new services on the fly that help them differentiate from their competitors.
