The benefits of an automation program get measured in terms of time or money saved.
FREMONT, CA: To achieve a long-term and successful robotic process automation transformation, organizations must first understand what they will alter. The transformation will significantly influence three pillars: people, processes, and digital employees. The interaction of these three pillars accomplishes workflows and activities, and the success of an enterprisewide digital transformation is determined by how well they get integrated.
Robots will not replace us; instead, they will take over the repetitive, bland, and monotonous duties that we have never enjoyed. They're here to help us transform our job by allowing us to focus on creativity and impact. RPA connects decisions and actions. It is the skeleton of a digital process that transports data from point A to point B. RPA's integration with AI, on the other hand, will feed the decision-making capability to understand and decide what happens next.

A strategic approach, success measures for automating, optimizing, and redesigning work should not be focused on metrics like reduced fully loaded costs or reduced FTEs, but should instead prioritize people.
Software providers adopt vertical technological skills and provide a diverse set of capabilities to address the three pillars outlined above. Powerhouses that recently went public, Microsoft's Softomotive purchase, and Celonis, which recently raised 1 billion dollars in a Series D round, are among them. Celonis focuses on the execution management system, whereas RPA vendors label it "intelligent automation." Both want to be a one-stop-shop for everything process-related.
For each stage of the intelligent automation journey, we've seen investments in various product categories. For example, centralized business process repositories for CoEs, process and task mining for process discovery, executives to manage the pipeline, measure cost versus benefit, & artificial intelligence solutions for intelligent document processing are just a few of the solutions available.
To be successful on any transformation journey, users must first understand the objectives, people, and process.
Define goals and measurements of success
A strategic approach, success measures for automating, optimizing, and redesigning work should not be focused on metrics like reduced fully loaded costs or reduced FTEs, but should instead prioritize people. Pay specific attention to measures like decreased throughput time or rework rate, identifying vendors that deliver late, finding missed invoice payments—determining loan requests from persons who are more likely to be paid back late to assess improved customer and employee experiences. These provide more precise performance indicators for specific business units.
The benefits of an automation program get measured in terms of time or money saved. However, the actual accomplishments of enhanced CX/EX indicators in multiple business units can be helpful to gauge the overall performance of an automation initiative. Set a clear problem statement for each business process. You will rethink, optimize, automate, and strive to identify the best solution to solve it. Do not attempt to solve problems with predefined answers. Begin by addressing the issue and aim.
