Deepfakes technology has so far been used to exploit the technology's bad side. Like the April Fool's Day video of Mark Zuckerberg claiming he's erasing Facebook; to reputation-damaging videos of Hollywood celebs allegedly acting in porn films, and to fraud, such as copying a chief executive's voice to seek a huge sum of money transfer.
Fremont, CA: From computer science and programming to visual effects, computer animation, and even neuroscience, deepfake technologies cut across fields and businesses. When done effectively and with the aid of advanced and powerful technologies, they can be convincingly practical and difficult to detect. For long years, researchers have been studying the ethical uses of deepfake technology. Image and video manipulation have been discovered to have a wide range of applications. But there's more to it than that. Bad actors utilize deepfakes as malicious programs. Its threat is genuine, and it is becoming more so as time passes. Voice Backup
It has been possible to make a computer speak for many years by inputting text into an application. Deepfake technology now allows this to be done with a specific person's voice, even if they haven't previously recorded the query words. This is becoming a life-changing tool for people who have lost their capacity to communicate clearly, such as those who have had strokes or who have a degenerative condition like amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Other applications for this audio-text-to-speech technology include correcting misspoken words in a voiceover rather than having to re-record them.
Voice Swapping
A person's voice can be changed or copied by using voice exchange. It may be programmed to sound younger or older, male or female, and with a variety of accents and dialects. An audio-book narrator may talk in the voices of many characters, or a renowned person could serve as a narrator without having to read the entire novel. It also expands the range of possibilities for virtual assistants like Siri. Instead of having to record multiple voice actors with varied accents and genders, audio voice swapping allows you to do it with only one.
