Facts to Know About VoIP Hacking
If one has incoming and outgoing calls in one's history that one does not recall, this could be an indicator that someone is making phone calls without one's knowledge.
FREMONT, CA: It's remarkable how the emergence of the internet has made our lives so much easier in so many ways. Communication with a close friend or relative, in particular, is made incredibly simple by the plethora of tools available on the internet. The use of virtual phone numbers, often known as VoIP, is one of the most wonderful technologies at everyone's disposal.
What is VoIP hacking?
An unauthorized person getting access to the system of a VoIP number is referred to as hacking. This enables the hacker to listen in on all communications made by the number and the services that rely on it and any data exchanged with it, including sensitive information. A hacker with access to a VoIP line may also make costly calls. These hacks can be bad enough to bankrupt a company. A hacker could also appear to be a member of your organization in order to engage in fraudulent activities such as phishing.
How to tell if your VoIP number is under attack?
If one suspects that one's phone number has been compromised, keep an eye out for the following warning signs:
• If one has incoming and outgoing calls in one's history that one does not recall, this could indicate that someone is making phone calls without one's knowledge.
• Microphones and cameras are behaving strangely. These devices are required to make voice and video calls. Suppose one notices that they are not performing properly, such as turning on or recording without one's input. In that case, it is possible that they are being controlled by the internet without one's knowledge.
• One's bills are increasing. Because VoIP services are typically inexpensive, an unusually high figure on one's account suggests a significant volume of calls. If this is the case, as previously said, one should thoroughly examine one's call history.
