Fremont, CA: Epidarex Capital, a transatlantic life science venture firm, raised Epidarex Capital III UK LP, at £102.1m ($127.2m).
The raised capital will be utilized to build new life science companies based on innovation and research from emerging hubs across the UK, including spinouts from highly regarded universities.

The new vehicle has been cornerstoned by the British Business Bank through a £50m ($62.3m) commitment from its Enterprise Capital Funds (ECF) program for early-stage venture capital. The program combines public and private money to allow equity investments in high-growth businesses, Since its foundation it has committed over £1.36 billion ($16.9 b) to facilitate finance to 540 smaller UK high growth businesses. In addition to the British Business Bank, the Universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, Manchester, alongside Strathclyde Pension Fund and several global investors have taken active participation in the funding round.
Epidarex is headquartered in Edinburgh, UK and its US bases are situated in Bethesda, and Maryland. The firm creates and invests in early-stage, potential life science companies in emerging research hubs. It is led by Managing Partners Sinclair Dunlop and Kyparissia Sirinakis.
The fund's first investment established Lunac Therapeutics, a spinout from the University of Leeds, which received £2.65m ($3.30m) in a Series A financing round. Lunac is developing cutting-edge anticoagulants to minimize bleeding risk. The fund expects to announce several further investments in the coming months.
