COVID-19 has shown the business world something that they should already know – the significance of shifting to more adaptable and agile digital solutions. Digital solutions are no more prerogative as they have percolated organizations across sizes and sectors
Fremont, CA: The COVID-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented impact, and it has altered the world as we know it. It has dramatically changed how we live, learn, and work. And the business world is one of the worst-hit areas during this pandemic. The major challenge for the businesses was to sustain the continuity amid the lockdown, social distancing, and other challenges. While some were better prepared, most were able to tackle the challenges eventually after the initial baffle, and the rest succumbed to the crisis. Some businesses and organizations were tempted to put digital initiatives on hold and instead focus on the less disruptive efforts while wading it. However, the challenges that arose during the pandemic showed that digital transformation is indeed the answer to most of the questions raised concerning business continuity in the post-COVID era. Digital transformation has become the need of the hour for the organizations and businesses to move forward to improve efficiency and pursue new opportunities for growth.
COVID-19 has shown the business world something that they should already know – the significance of shifting to more adaptable and agile digital solutions. Digital solutions are no more prerogative as they have percolated organizations across sizes and sectors. The COVID-19 crisis emphasized the need for this paradigm shift that is already underway. In the wake of the crisis, organizations were forced to adapt quickly to the demands of a remote and decentralized workforce, and technology adaption life cycles that could have taken months were completed in days.

Anything as a service (XaaS) has come to the forefront of this digital transformation now more than ever. Amid the fluctuating market condition, with organizations resorting to remote workforce wherever they could, -as-a-Service strategy has allowed them to become more agile. While going wholesale into the cloud may not be affordable for the organizations under the given circumstances, the key is to identify the applications and platforms that can be shifted to the consumption-based model.
The organizations also need to identify, evaluate and have the right mix of online collaboration tools to facilitate their remote workforce. Scalability and security should be two of the crucial factors in determining the right partner from the domain that has some big giants and niche players as potential vendors. It is also important for businesses and organizations to revamp their channel strategy. While the online channel has been a discretionary option for brick-and-mortar businesses, it will become mandatory in the coming years. The COVID-19 lockdown and social distancing have brought about a change in the customer patterns, and the impact would likely stay even after the crisis settles down. The customer experience is what that ultimately drives the revenue or proves the value of IT services, and it should be at the core of this digital transformation.
