Aqua Security Secures Pivotal Cloud Foundry with Native Runtime Protection
The native runtime protection solution will enable organizations to deploy end-to-end security and protect their application workloads.
FREMONT, CA: Aqua Security, a solution provider for securing container-based and cloud-native applications, recently launched a runtime protection solution for Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF). It enables Pivotal platform users to download and install the Aqua Security for PCF service from Pivotal Services Marketplace. The users can deploy end-to-end solutions for scanning, application assurance, and runtime protection for their application workloads.
The company assists enterprises in securing their cloud-native, container-based, and serverless applications from development to the production stage. It promotes business agility and streamlines digital transformation by bridging the gap between DevOps and security. Its clients have achieved complete visibility and security automation across their application lifecycle by leveraging a zero-touch approach to identify and thwart threats, while at the same time, ensuring regulatory compliance.
The customers of Aqua Security include leading financial services, software development, internet, media, hospitality, and retail companies. Its security offerings span a broad range of cloud providers and on-premise technologies. PCF not only includes a wide distribution of cloud foundry application runtime (CFAR) but also allows the customers to integrate the platform on major cloud infrastructures, premise, or hybrid.
The implementation of the Pivotal platform has enabled enterprises to streamline their code production. Coupled with Aqua native runtime protection, organizations can seamlessly access the application security checks within the deployment pipeline to scale safety and compliance. The collaboration between Aqua Security and Pivotal is aimed at delivering seamless end-to-end security for the customers.
Aqua Security for PCF comprises standard and advanced protection tiers. The standard tier enables users to scan application for vulnerabilities during a continuous integration process. It has provision policies to block unauthorized applications during staging phases. The users can also apply host assurance policies for application or container artifacts.
The advanced protection tier bolsters the standard features with an additional layer of security, enabling users to detect and block unapproved changes to running application workloads. The application activity can be controlled based on customized policies. They can view application network connection and apply firewall rules, leveraging the granular audit trails of access activity, scan events and coverage, application activity, and system events.
The Aqua Security for PCF can be installed natively as a buildpack comprising the languages, runtimes, libraries, and services used by the app. The advanced runtime protection component can be implemented as Bosh ass-on, protecting the Pivotal Application Service apps eliminating the need for manual changes or individual re-deployments of Aqua per application.
