Apex Ventures recently exited portfolio company contextflow and completed four new investments in the areas of digital pathology, radiology, and neurology. Venture partner Kelly Klein recently joined the fund to head up Apex’s activities in Israel, which will be assisted by the fund’s European network
FREMONT, CA: Austria-based venture capital firm Apex Ventures has launched its second fund, which will be focusing on digital health startups. Apex Ventures is led by a qualified doctor and radiologist Gordon Euller, who has prior experience at AKH, Vienna’s General Hospital, and McKinsey in London. Apex Digital Health will be backing seed-stage deep-tech companies with defendable IP. The company’s area of focus will range from DACH-based companies to those based in the rest of Europe, Israel, and the US.
The majority of the company’s investments to date have been in the DACH region, managed through its Austrian base. Apex Ventures recently exited portfolio company contextflow and completed four new investments in the areas of digital pathology, radiology, and neurology. Venture partner Kelly Klein recently joined the fund to head up Apex’s activities in Israel, which will be assisted by the fund’s European network. Apex Ventures is also planning to shortly issue a call along with the Herman Hauser Investment Group for the best European startups in the strategic areas of In-silico trials, and AI-supported healthcare data marketplaces.

The company was founded in 2017 and is an early-stage investor focusing on Seed in marketplaces, fintech, SaaS, digital media, ecommerce, and digital health companies. The company is headquartered in Austria, with operations in Germany, Israel, and Silicon Valley. Apex Ventures operates under four different arms, namely, APEX One, APEX Digital Health, APEX Innovation Tickets, and Business Angel Portfolio. Some of the portfolio companies under APEX Digital Health include Mindpeak, Deepspin, Quibim, and Novoic.
