3 Process Automation Trends in 2022

Given the massive digital transformation across industries, digital process automation appears to be a priority for the lion’s share of today’s businesses and enterprises.

FREMONT, CA: In the aftermath of the covid-19 pandemic, digital transformation has become a necessity for every major business, and process automation is a big part of this transformation. People often fail to comprehend that digital transformation is less about just technology and more about the utilization of technology for transforming organizational operations.

Considering that processes are fundamental to businesses’ foundation, changes always have a profound impact. Digital process automation generates immediate benefits such as error reduction, improved accountability, and more. Considering the rising popularity of process automation, here is the list of three major trends that will redefine the global business arena in 2022.

Evolution of Content Management Beyond Versioning and Sharing: For many businesses, content management (CM) will be a pivotal moment. For a long time now, CM has been associated with content sharing and collaboration. But it is time that CM is given more importance and made a critical aspect of process management and automation strategies. Content is the key to success in today's digital world, and businesses must leverage it.

  1. Rise Low-code/No-code: Low-code/No-code (LC/NC) technologies are on the rise today and are enabling users to combine applications that complement each other and configure them as per specific requirements in a free-form instructional environment. Considering the decline for skilled software developers and rising demand for newer applications, LC/NC will take center stage in 2022 across several business domains. The most promising aspect of LC/NC is that in the hands of software professionals, they can yield immense benefits and opportunities.
  2. Waterfall Development Will Remain: The idea of waterfall development embodies the idea of creating software in a sequential manner, step-by-step. The idea today is considered outmoded as more technologists today believe in continuous development and improvement of their creations by following different methodologies. But this trend has been mostly limited to the commercial development of software. Waterfall development still remains the first choice of organizations who hire outside consultants for developing their software. Hence one could say that Waterfall development will be seen in 2022.

Given the massive digital transformation across industries, digital process automation appears to be a priority for the lion’s share of today’s businesses and enterprises. 2022 is expected to be a banner year for many of them, and the process automation landscape will witness sea changes this year.
