Augmented reality and virtual reality might have taken the world by storm, but these technologies are still in their infancy. While several technology companies are toying and experimenting with the idea of leveraging these technologies, MASH Virtual is already building its path into the future. Driven by zeal to create the best experience for the users, MASH Virtual is a start-up providing IT and technology solutions and services, specializing in developing applications for mobiles, streaming devices, and wearables. “Our company is a unique blend of a technology company with domain specialisation,” says Aarul Malaviya, Founder and Director of MASH Virtual.

The focus, for MASH Virtual, lies in four main areas—AR/ VR solutions, Mobile SaaS apps, Games for Education and Entertainment, and third-party development. The company conceptualizes, designs, and develops games, applications, and software for different devices with varied functions and operating systems. Malaviya explains, “While sometimes, our fields go their separate ways, these areas frequently converge—like mobile solutions applications with attached AR/VR experience or an educational game in a mobile solution.” MASH Virtual concentrates on the domains of education, entertainment, tourism, healthcare, and storytelling in an attempt to present them to users in a more innovative and attractive fashion.

The process of viewing and servicing projects holistically is key to MASH Virtual’s success. The company has established excellent partnership models that include domain specialists in areas such as education, English language, and healthcare. This allows MASH Virtual to create solutions from the users’ perspective and deliver it in a manner relatable to the end user.

IELTS Star VR, one of MASH Virtual’s applications, is a virtual reality solution delivered through the mobile, which prepares users sitting for a face-to-face speaking interview module for IELTS, a major English language proficiency exam. It creates a simulated environment with built-in interactivity where the interview is recorded and is sent to an expert for inputs and feedback. The users, especially non-native English speakers, then become comfortable with the interview environment as they practice. The simulation also aids in increasing focus and engagement. “This is world’s first solution that offers such an experience,” Malaviya emphasizes. MASH Virtual’s AR-enabled support improves the app for the individuals preparing for the test and is currently working on similar projects in the healthcare sector.

Since MASH Virtual has been operating for a little over a year now, the company plans to launch two new mobile solutions that utilize both AR and VR. One of these, IELTS Star, targets the English language assessment IELTS Test—this has already been launched in India and is expected to reach the global audience by August. The other is a comprehensive mobile app called ‘Zamit, which is slated for launch in October. Zamit is a one stop information, engagement and interaction platform that connects schools, students, parents, teachers and service providers. A unique feature of this app is the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, targeted to provide personalized learning and support along with predictive and adaptive assessment features.

“We are working on finding new ways for users to interact with AR, VR, and MR,” says Malaviya. As the integration of ML and AI into the IELTS Star benefitted users enormously, MASH Virtual is trying to integrate the same into all its applications to improve the user experience. “In the near future, we aim to develop AR applications for the healthcare sector to promote awareness of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and mental health, including addiction to gaming which the WHO has recently put in the same category as substance addiction,” concludes Malaviya.
