With the tremendous potential to redefine the way people and businesses work, artificial intelligence (AI) has caught the attention of the world. More organizations and businesses across the globe are increasingly adopting AI to improve their operations. However, European businesses have been lagging in exploring the full potential of AI. The lack of knowledge and skills gaps is limiting their ability to gain the ROI on AI. The fear of ethical risks is slowing down their projects. Many hope to work with an experienced AI partner who can provide them with an accelerated onramp to AI-based business innovation. Enter La Javaness, a Paris-based company on a mission to help European companies be at par with other global companies leading AI-enabled business innovation. With La Javaness’ AI solutions, companies can improve their revenue, operational efficiency, and productivity. “We develop and deploy AI-based solutions to help large businesses leverage the benefits of AI in adherence to ethical principles in European standards,” says Alexandre Martinelli, co-founder, and president of La Javaness.

Since its inception in 2015, La Javaness has been offering scalable AI solutions, Otto and Predictor, to industries such as financial services, public sector, and travel, among others.
Otto assists customer service staff by automating mundane tasks, allowing them to focus more on core business processes that lead to greater customer satisfaction. Furthermore, Otto automates end-to-end workflows by connecting third-party systems to respond to simple customer requests. On the other hand, Predictor maximizes company’s revenue with smart pricing, marketing and sales levers. Based on predictive models that are trained on years of commercial and market data, Predictor smart pricing predicts the best price for each product in every context in real-time.

Martinelli asserts that the prominent reason differentiating La Javaness from its peers is its capability to industrialize real-time AI solutions. Today, La Javaness is the AI partner of AMF, LCL, Banque de France and Pôle emploi. It has deployed more than 60 large AI projects till now. As an example of its recent implementations, a leading French energy provider has adopted Otto socialbot to route, qualify and respond to the 200,000 customer messages every year on its social media channels, thus saving time for agents and increasing customer satisfaction.

We develop and deploy AI-based solutions to helplarge organizations benefit from ethical AI

From early on, the teams at La Javaness have engaged in integrating ethical principles into every step throughout the lifecycle of AI solutions. One key question they are concerned with is how to make sure that human feels at ease and in control when using AI systems. La Javaness teams have designed specific modules that allow users to be in the control seat of every AI-based solution and to understand the AI system in transparency. They can integrate evolving business strategy and processes into the solution. They can also monitor the data and algorithms in a simple manner. In order to leverage the fruit from the latest academic research, La Javaness partners with CentralSupelec on domain-specific AI bias issues.

For the future, La Javaness plans to take the lead in the French market by 2020. The firm also plans to expand its solutions to locations such as Germany and Italy and partner with consulting firms and integration providers. With a strong conviction that AI will boost many business processes across industries, the company continues to innovate and build production-ready AI solutions with scalable performance.
