KORE
Comprehensive, Technology- Agnostic Approach for Connectivity

Sunder Somasundaram, SVP of Pre-Sales and Solution EngineeringKORE was started more than 15 years ago, at a time when most carriers had only started selling connectivity plans and devices, such as cell phones, to the consumer space. The company understood the growing potential of the IoT market and decided to go to market with the Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) model, delivering global, multi-carrier connectivity services that IoT providers required. Since then, KORE has built upon this foundation to expand its offerings to a complete set of IoT deployment, management, and sustainment solutions that add greater simplicity to IoT implementations and ultimately enable customers to accelerate speed-to-market and maximise their returns on IoT investments.
Our foundation is based on connectivity, but over the years we have built an arsenal of tools that allow us to develop a full-blown solution from an end to end perspective
In 2016, KORE acquired Wyless, a company operating in a similar space within IoT, that helped them expand their global footprint into Europe. Further bolstering its European presence, KORE acquired ASPIDER-NGI in 2018 to introduce innovative managed network services and solutions as well as eSIM capabilities. “Our foundation is based on connectivity, but over the years we have built an arsenal of tools that allow us to develop a full-blown solution from concept, to deployment, to ongoing management,” asserts Somasundaram. He adds that a lot of their customers offering field service applications have outsourced a considerable amount of activities related to deploying their solutions. On behalf of their clients, KORE procures and provisions hardware and IoT devices—including staging and configuration of connectivity services and desired software applications— and also handles logistical and operational processes for improved scalability. The company can thus assist customers to simplify and manage their entire IoT deployment lifecycle and maintain long-term IoT success. As an independent provider, KORE relies on a technology-agnostic approach that helps them achieve transformative business performance through IoT by enabling connected solutions for a broad range of industries and use cases.
One of KORE's clients, a small field service operator, required a comprehensive set of products and services to facilitate their field service application. They initially intended to use a mobile phone for to host their app and were unaware of the industry requirements at the time that prohibited this strategy. Initially, KORE worked with them to develop a new strategy, leveraging their close partnership with Samsung to deliver Samsung Galaxy tablets with the accessories needed to protect the devices and ensure optimal functionality. The company provided their client with a suite of professional services to deploy these tablets to ensure everything was properly staged, kitted, and provisioned to the appropriate connectivity carrier and plan for an “out-of-the-box” experience. In addition to delivering the devices, network connectivity services, and professional deployment services, KORE also provided and pre-installed the Samsung Knox Mobile Device Management (MDM) software to add an extra layer of security and control. By off-loading these activities to KORE, the field services client was empowered to focus on their core competencies and what matters most to their business and end customers.

KORE helps GoRout Tackle Communication Between Players and Coaches
ATLANTA, -- KORE, a global leader in Internet of Things ("IoT") Solutions and pioneering IoT hyperscaler, and provider of IoT Connectivity, Solutions and Analytics, announced today its alliance with GoRout, the leader in coach-to-player communication. GoRout's rugged wearable devices provide real-time access to crucial information for coaches and players, revolutionizing on-field communication from Little League to the NFL.
GoRout's in-game and practice platforms enable instant communication between coaches and players, all from the dugout or sidelines. With the click of a button on a smart phone or tablet, coaches can securely send play calls and pitches directly to players, who then receive alerts via wearable smartwatch devices, alleviating the worry of sign stealing. Coaches can also use data collected during practice to maximize their team's performance on gameday.
Teams are always on the move, often traveling cross-country for games, which is why GoRout needed reliable connectivity that could travel with their customers.
To date, the company has launched over 2,000 devices with the help of KORE. GoRout's devices are powered by Super SIM®, a key offering within KORE's Connectivity as a Service (CaaS) suite. Super SIM gives customers the ability to choose exactly which networks to use per region from over 400 tier-1 carriers in over 185 countries to control coverage and cost, all managed seamlessly through one pane of glass – a single IoT SIM card and consolidated billing from one provider.
Romil Bahl, KORE President and CEO, said KORE is excited to be a part of the innovation IoT is bringing to the athletics field.
"IoT is revolutionizing the way we live and play," said Bahl. "No matter what sport, players really leave everything on the field, so using our technology to help optimize their performance is a big win for us. From tee-ball to the major leagues, being a part of a team fosters a sense of confidence and collaboration that players carry with them for a lifetime."
GoRout's mission is to use technology to help players and coaches maximize their time and elevate their performance, which is only possible through reliable connectivity, according to GoRout CEO and Co-Founder Mike Rolih.
"GoRout is always looking for ways to partner with first-class organizations that share our same commitment to excellence, which is why we couldn't be more excited to partner with KORE," said Rolih.
