“The most crucial element of our life is time. When I worked as an SAP consultant, I observed how business users and IT support personnel spent a significant amount of time creating and solving redundant and routine tasks,” begins Andrii Rudchuk, founder and CEO of Hala. “This drove us to create something that could reduce the effort involved in carrying out repetitive activities, allowing employees of an organization to use their time on more value-adding activities,” he adds.

Hala has created a digital assistant that automates IT and business processes for corporate organizations utilizing enterprise software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, and Salesforce. The functionalities of these enterprise software systems are broken down into millions of simulated human skills, optimizing the processes associated with user interactions. As an example, the process of obtaining the balance of a General Ledger (GL) account in SAP is streamlined by simply stating a query to the digital assistant. “We are transforming human knowledge into digital skills that can be used by any business in the world. Customers can use Hala by installing skills (modules) into their system and start communicating with Hala to solve their problems without the need of any natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning trainer modules,” explains Rudchuk. Currently, Hala, the digital assistant, is powered with more than 40 skills that can be downloaded by organizations to solve a multitude of tasks automatically.

Hala has combined multiple technologies such as voice recognition, image recognition, natural language processing, syntax analysis, machine learning, and sentiment analysis to build its digital assistant. Collectively, these technologies are capable of understanding the queries and requests posted by users, in turn, providing instantaneous resolutions to such issues. Business users can initiate conversations through text, voice, and images from platforms such as mobile, desktop or tablet, while being able to integrate with third-party applications. Hala can visualize data sets and help organizations in creating incident reports, simultaneously modifying enterprise applications—similar to how a human would—in order to automate redundant operations that consume manpower and resources.

Rudchuk recollects an episode from his days as a consultant at SAP, highlighting the need to simplify business processes. The sales managers who did not work with SAP’s on a daily basis required information relating to the credit limits of customers. They had two options to retrieve the data: 1.Log into SAP and identify relevant transactions to find out the credit limit 2. Contact the finance department to obtain the information by sending an email. They always chose the second option. The back and forth exchange of emails consumed a significant number of working hours, hindering the productivity of sales managers. “Time is money, and this entire process could be automated through our digital assistant, where a business user can obtain the credit limits within a few seconds, simplifying the routine processes of the workflow,” adds Rudchuk.

With Hala’s Knowledge Sharing Platform, consultants will be able to figuratively move their expertise into a digital mind and create skills that can be used by thousands of clients across the world. This will enable consultants to monetize their skills whenever the skills are downloaded or utilized by users across the globe. These automation capabilities have earned the company the recognition of top 30 startups in Nordics and Baltic region and top 100 startups in the European area, showcasing the merits of Hala’s automation capabilities.
