Few industries are more caught in the tornado of disruptive change as financial services. Relationships between firms, between consumers and service providers, regulators and senior managers are being radically redefined as innovations in tech, commercial pressures and regulatory demands converge to a new nexus of forces.

The explosion of data volumes in the operationally complex post-trade realm provides a clear opportunity to develop insights and commercial advantage, but the challenge is to trust that data.

In such complex scenario, it has become impossible for the firms to uproot the siloed legacy systems overnight. Data formats will vary wildly inside and between increasingly connected enterprises. Streaming, real-time and open data will need to be brought into the processing mix along with legacy operational stores, data lakes and batch processing.

Leveraging years of experience in data integrity and financial markets, Gresham has brought a uniquely tailored offering to the table – the Clareti Platform. With over a hundred enterprise customers already around the world, Clareti guarantees that this relative whirlwind of data is 100 percent under control. Propelled by an indomitable urge to change the whole concept of data control for financial services, the Clareti platform ensures understanding of malicious activities happening between the front and middle office, systematic breaks that might put revenue in jeopardy, and failure to address regulatory procedures by a particular team.

Taking a fresh and agile approach to data control, Clareti allows financial entities to jump through even the most complicated hoops.

Innovation is absolutely at the core of our business, we want to be the transformational stimulus for our customers

For a start the platform doesn’t require a fixed data model, meaning it can connect across multiple sources, intelligently recommend the best control points and quickly deploy them. One recent case study illustrates this. Previously, a firm took 220 days to construct heavy ‘reconciliation’ including heavy ETL lifting and data transformation coding; now with Clareti that’s down to ten days.

The ability to process any data regardless of the format, across any number of sources and destinations with machine learning constantly retuning the automation efficiency provides clients with the desired competitive edge.

The company firmly believes that Business Process Management (BPM) and RPA cannot drive toward the complicated targets of compliance and advanced risk identification alone. Gresham leverages these technologies into Clareti’s wider data integrity and control framework, and integrate with third parties to provide enterprise alignment with any existing investments at the firm.

Bill Blythe, Global Business Development Director of Gresham mentions, “Keeping innovation at the core, we want to be the vanguard of change. Exploring practical uses of blockchain and developing NLP (Natural Language Processor) interfaces, embracing Kafka streams or data capabilities, we have become the transformational stimulus for our customers.”

The effectiveness of the Clareti platform is exemplified through a customer success story. A large investment bank with offices across London, Zurich, Stamford, HongKong, and Singapore, was facing problems related to control, onboarding, trades, and legacy systems. After implementing the Clareti platform, they were able to deal with asset class complexity through one centralised system.

Scrapping the legacy reconciliation tool they had deployed well before the financial crash, the client was able to control risk far more efficiently building trust internally and with the regulator. The bank was able to evidence front-to-back control of over 180 million trades a day while reducing total cost of ownership by £3 million per annum.

Blythe adds, “we are headquartered in London, and expanding our international footprint rapidly with significant inroads already in North America and APAC. We already have over a third of the world’s G-SIB’s as strategic clients and on the buy-side, asset managers holding 20 percent of the worlds AUM use Clareti at the centre of their data control processes.”

FREMONT, CA: As cybercriminals and their strategies are continually changing, the regular functionalities of distributors are repeatedly deescalating. Presently, unauthorized breaches have gained such a momentum that even the retail industry has become a vulnerable target to the attackers. Because of this and with the numerous cyberattacks happening every day, distributors are stepping up their safety maturity.
