Every organisation that relies on IT in one form or the other has a mind-numbing quantity of data flowing in and out of them. A study by Leftronic has revealed that the amount of global data subject to analysis will grow to 5.2 zettabytes by 2025, and businesses will be spending upwards of $200 billion on big data analytics alone.

For this data to be useful in the growth of the company, it needs to be aggregated and analysed from all its sources— machines, clients, and real-world events. Akin to how Excel is versatile enough to be used for data management in any industry, there is a need for an equivalent solution that can interpret big data into insightful analytics for organisations in real-time. “Our goal is to provide data in a way that can positively impact the digital strategy of a client company and directly benefit their revenue margin,” says Mehdi Chouiten, CEO of Datategy. The French ML solution provider functions to contribute to the development of a “Smart City” by allowing private transport and parking operators to decrease their fraud rate significantly, and leverage smart technology to optimize their results. As an industry-agnostic startup specialised in flow analysis and data science, Datategy also operates in several other fields of activity, including energy, security, telecommunications, and more, and have developed the OctoCity® platform to reduce average task time, waiting time and optimise deployment.

Seeing that a lot of companies had only a vague vision and lack of awareness about the potentiality of their data, Chouiten and his partner Eric Chau, founded Datategy to allow organisations an easy route in centralising and homogenising their data. “It doesn’t mean that the data is moved to a different location, it means that it can be viewed collectively from a single point,” notes Chouiten.
Datategy’s cloud-based AI platform OctoCity® gives clients this detailed, centralised view of their data, which helps them also identify the correlations and impacts that the data has on business processes. For example, the influence caused by a change in operations of one department in the company can be mapped and correlated by the platform to give analysts a clear idea of how it affects the reliability of their products. “As a final step, our solution collects organised data such that our clients can create more accurate and relevant AI algorithms,” notes Chouiten.

Our goal is to provide data in a way that can positively impact the digital strategy of a client company and benefit their revenue margin

While it is pivotal that the platform can handle complex troves of data, it is equally essential that the analysis is provided in a simple, understandable format. Where other similar solutions only advise users on what course of action needs to be taken, the OctoCity® platform lets them know the reasons spurring the decision too. A demonstration of this capability would be in a credit scoring system for CEOs where the platform backs up its results using mathematical data hinged upon the candidate’s history of organisational development, involvement in the board, and more. Its algorithm determines the credit scores based on the reliability of the company, by taking into account its stability, influence, and reach in the market. The OctoCity® solution is invaluable for financial institutions, banks, parking managerial, and other firms where real-time data analysis and decisions based on it, are crucial for optimal functioning. The unique feature of the platform allows clients to quickly analyse vast amounts of data “in the millisecond scale” and gain valuable insights.

Datategy’s usual client engagements involve helping the client evaluate the kind of data they have, how often it is updated, what type of data management system is employed, and finally, how they envision their data after analysis. In some cases where digital transformation is a priority, Datategy works the C-suite of the company to transition the client from a semi-manual organisation to one that is automatic and data-driven in its projects. The platform’s versatility to be used in almost any industry combined with its ability to interpret and create robust machine learning models makes it a key player in the data science landscape. Unlike most companies—even those in the Gartner Magic Quadrant—whose functionalities are limited to textual, financial, and numerical data, OctoCity® can process images and videos with its powerful AI tools, while also managing time efficiently. With innovation at its core, Datategy plans to geographically expand its clientele base across Europe, the Middle East, and the US as well in the years to come. Having successfully raised three million Euro in the past year, Datategy will grow its workforce to bolster its footprint on a global level. In its journey ahead, the company will incorporate emerging technologies and continually enhance the capabilities of its clients. By providing city operators with the tools that enhance productivity and optimise services, Datategy strides toward its goal of making cities more connected, more synchronised, and more accessible; or in a nutshell—a Smart City.
