Brad’s journey in the world of software QA started in 2009 when he worked as an intern at a Romanian outsourcing firm, which allowed him to work on a project in Germany where he recognised his unparalleled ability to identifying software bugs. Subsequently, during his five-year stint working on the development of healthcare software, Brad trained 12 engineers to work in QA and set up a testing department for the firm before moving on to work as a contractor. By 2018, Brad had accumulated experience in working for projects across multiple industry sectors, including healthcare, finance, among others, and eventually started BetterQA as a way to extend his expertise to other engineers. Currently, Brad is continually looking to improve software testing by leveraging new-age testing tools and industry best practices certified by the international software testing qualifications board (ISTQB).

Concerning client onboarding, Brad elaborates, “We start working on every project by gathering information on all the key aspects and adapting our work to match them so that we can help our client deliver the software that aligns with their strategy.”

Additionally, owing to BetterQA’s emphasis on transparent communication, the company and its team facilitate high visibility of the QA and testing processes to ensure that clients can create the relevant documentation required to deliver offerings that are in lockstep with the latest trends of the respective industry.

Highlighting the efficacy of BetterQA’s portfolio and onboarding strategy is a case study where the company assisted AdvNiow, a telemedicine/healthcare automation vendor—to enhance the quality of their medical kiosk software. Initially, the client approached BetterQA to employ automation testing. However, the companyquickly recognised and offered the opportunity to implement testing of services and individual changes, which was adopted by the client to grow faster and more efficiently. Therefore, Better QA created a QA process in JIRA with various custom fields and dashboards so that future development issues could be addressed seamlessly without losing time and resources. Concurrently, the company deployed flagger to document discrepancies in the software code to help AdviNow deliver software that aligned with their initial promise of seamless medical consultation.

Similarly, BetterQA has ignited several success stories since its inception, which is made apparent with its growth— almost doubling its projects in the span of one year. From a geographical standpoint, BetterQA plans to grow its clientele within the European Union. “We hope to gradually expand our clientele and ensure that our existing team gets the opportunities that can enhance their firsthand expertise as well as test our interns’ eye for detail,” concludes Brad.
