A Smarter Way toward Hotel Management

In the middle of yet another busy day, and amid the chaos of assigning room attendants, welcoming new guests, and answering calls, the manager of a hotel receives an alert on his tablet, “Mr. and Mrs. Thomas have booked a luxury suite.” The notification is sent through a Property Management System, called Basil 365 that had earlier helped the hotel to seamlessly integrate with hundreds of online travel agencies (OTAs). Before the “soon-to-arrive guests” can dial in the hotel number to know about their trip details, the manager sends a welcome text using Basil 365, informing the guests about all the necessary information. The system also ensures that all hotel employees are posted about important messages that need to be communicated during guest check-in. Right after the guests check out, the hotel also sends a “thank you message,” which results in a high rating and a positive review about the hotel on an online travel website. Hotel data is transmitted, and price lists and room availability are synchronised by Basil 365 in such a way that the management staff never misses a business opportunity. The system has a guest page where the hotelier can offer sales products and room upgrades to arriving and staying guests. All products ordered by the guest is seamlessly added to the guest account in Basil 365.

Currently serving the North European region, Basil 365 looks forward to expanding its geographic footprint in newer markets. Nilsson informs, “We will be bringing in funding through VC investments to expand geographically.” The firm also aims to enhance its capabilities to deliver an enhanced guest page, guest loyalty support, and revenue management in the near future.
