Enroute to Commercial AGI

What’s the difference between human intelligence and human-made intelligence? From the digital perspective, it’s a simple word— general. The primary goal of all AI enthusiasts, scientists, and companies all over the world since the technology’s inception has always been to mimic human intellect precisely in the same way as the human brain functions— general AI. The AI that is commonly used today is “narrow AI” which is limited to specificity—it utilizes machine-reasoning technologies to learn from a specific scenario’s dataset and solves challenges pertaining to the same scenario. On the contrary, general AI has the ability to learn from highly complex, heterogeneous datasets from ambiguous situations and use that learning experience to solve challenges of any situation in addition to the source scenario. Five years back, Arago, a German firm, started marching towards a seemingly impossible goal. The company, a pioneer of using narrow AI technologies in the commercial space, has now unveiled a commercially proven general AI platform, transforming the very way the tech market perceives AI and its applications.

The Novel HIROTM Platform

“Our general AI platform—HIROTM is uniquely designed to automate every process of any firm, essentially becoming the enterprise’s brain, with minimal training, cost, and small datasets,” says Hans-Christian Boos, CEO and Founder of Arago. HIROTM autonomously runs IT infrastructure management processes within the client’s computing infrastructure, networks, middleware, and application layers and extends its functionalities to service desk operations, security and compliance operations, and application support.
In addition to the IT operational functionalities, the platform aids in end-to-end business management for multiple industries like finance, insurance, security, HR, telecom, IT, manufacturers, and agri-tech.

Into the Platform’s Core

This groundbreaking general AI platform oscillates around Arago’s novel dynamic reasoning algorithms that propel HIROTM to solve complex operational and strategic management challenges, become agiler, and seamlessly adapt to changing environments. The AI solution emulates three major human capabilities to achieve the above feat using the algorithms—Learning, Understanding, and Solving through experience. HIROTM breaks down any complex process into tiny bits of information or KIs (Knowledge Items) that precisely defines each step of the process. Moreover, owing to KI’s highly quantifiable nature, the knowledge items can be stored and reused by HIROTM while automating the next process, as an ‘artificial experience.' This is unlike the conventional ‘pattern construction’ approach that enables current AI technologies to only provide an exclusive solution for a specific situation. As HIROTM starts automating the client’s process, the platform builds an accessible, semantic map of the organization’s data. This allows the platform to accurately understand the environment of work and deploy the best set of KIs to find the perfect solution for the customer.

Sustaining the Customer’s AI Foundation

“With Arago’s technology, we not only deliver a tailor-made solution to help run a customer’s operations more efficiently and cost-effectively, we simultaneously assist the client to evolve into a fully AI-enabled enterprise,” states Boos.
Arago guides business to implement the platform into its environment in four simple steps. The partnership is initiated with Arago’s consultation team that collaborates with the customer and analyzes their precise necessities. With a detailed perception of the requirements and the workflows and processes to be automated, a tailor-made plan is then laid out for implementation of HIROTM by Arago’s experts. The customized AI solution is then tested in a secure development area and the deployment is completed when HIROTM finally learns the client’s work environment, adapts to it, and then successfully automates all the required processes of the customer. In the long run, HIROTM would dynamically react to the customer’s changing future situations and apply existing KIs and new information to select the best course of action.

"The platform dynamically reacts to a customer’s changing future situations and applies existing knowledge and new information to select the best course of action"

Quite unsurprisingly, such a breakthrough has earned Arago numerous accolades and immense recognition. However, this is just the start for Arago. A small project undergone by the company gives a sneak peek into how Arago has put all its efforts to enhance the platform to newer heights. A few years back, Google’s Deep Mind successfully defeated the world champion of Alpha Go, which was an extraordinary feat and the next level after AI’s Chess conquest. With HIROTM, Arago attempts to take the next logical step by letting its platform conquer a complete, near real-world strategic game—FREECIV that harbours more possible states than even Alpha Go and gives away much lesser information. HIROTM, through the information gathered from the game and learning experiences inputted from FREECIV players all over the world, can evolve into a higher level of intelligence. The platform would, on its own just like any human being, ignore all irrelevant moves that won’t affect the game’s conclusion and only pick the best actions that are necessary at that moment to win the game.
