Stimulating Analytic Intelligence into the Camera

“Putting a brain in the camera”—that is precisely how Mario Vento, Co-founder & Co-owner of A.I. Tech defines the mission of the company. In 2010, Italy-based A.I. Tech, with its broad expertise in AI coming from the academic scientific background of its founders in the fields machine learning, and computer vision technologies exhibited a ground-breaking intelligent video surveillance solution that attempted to automate the entire surveillance process. Combining state-of-the-art research in artificial vision with the most advanced software methodologies, the company has been delivering unprecedented value to numerous customers in security, retail, and traffic monitoring. A.I. Tech’s unique intelligent video surveillance solutions or the smart cameras self-analyze the input images in real time using machine learning and computer vision and alerts the operator whenever there is any chance of foul play.

The necessity to empower “camera with brains” stems back to a common scenario in any video surveillance department today. A human operator engages continuously on a large screen dissected into multiple views to recognize any case of security breach. However, dependency on solely human activities for monitoring the entire security of an organization can result in dire consequences.

The Promise of A.I. Tech for the Retail and Traffic Management Space

One of the sectors A.I. Tech plays in is the retail space. The company’s video analytics tools in combination with the AI cameras act like an intelligent data sensor that upends the whole system to a new level than just monitoring.

Through an intuitive dashboard, an organization can analyze a horde of incoming data on the customers—age, gender, behavior, and more—to target the right customers and significantly boost sales.

This integration of advanced AI and video analytics has also propelled the company to take a step further than its peers in the traffic management segment. Digitizing traffic management, the “cameras with brains” can effectively monitor and self-analyze the number and typologies of vehicles crossing a particular road, vehicles breaking traffic rules, and pedestrians crossing the road. In case of any adversity, the cameras successfully recognize the situation and alert the nearest human operator. “Our solutions enhance the efficiency of human operators which is a necessity considering the rising security issues around the world and the potential intelligent visualization systems bring to the table to mitigate such issues,” says Saggese, a co-owner of A.I. Tech.

Core Competency

A.I. Tech’s core competency lies in its team that boasts of top domain experts, PhDs, computer scientists, and university professors who have decades of in-depth knowledge in AI, machine learning, and artificial vision. Vento explains, “My firm belief is that every customer which partners with us not only buys our products, but also gains access to our unparallel domain knowledge, deep industry skills, and excellent support.” For instance, one renowned vehicle manufacturer approached A.I. Tech to understand the behavior of potential customers and monitor the vehicle movements during its essential sale event. A.I. Tech installed its intelligent cameras in every client vehicle to successfully monitor the age, gender, behavior, and other typologies of each customer entering the vehicle. Also, vehicle movements and the surrounding environment during the test drives were also efficiently monitored in real time. This eventually allowed the client to determine possible customers and estimate total sale value during the event.

To keep up with the pace of rising competitions, it’s imperative for any company to continue innovating. Along the same lines, A.I. Tech is shortly launching more powerful solutions based on advanced video analytics and a next-generation AI dashboard that analyzes complex heterogeneous data and better captures customer behavior.
