Jim Beam celebrated its 225th anniversary using an Event Engagement Digital Platform
Jim Beam, a legendary bourbon distiller, celebrated its 225th anniversary with an online Pub Quiz hosted in the Netherlands. The event was held by Jim Beam's Dutch Distributor DeKuyper in tech partnership with an international IT company WaveAccess – its Event Engagement Digital Platform myQuiz was selected as the service to conduct the quiz.The show broadcasted live on myQuiz's Youtube channel gathered nearly 1000 players and live stream viewers. The quiz contained 53 questions on topics related to alcohol drinks and Rock music. To ensure that all the players would be of legal drinking age, the access to the quiz was restricted to registered participants. All the questions had multiple answers and there could be more than one correct answer. Bonus points were given based on the speed of answers. Altogether, it added the excitement to the game. On top of that, the leaderboard was changing after each question showing the current leaders which kept the excitement going to the very end of the quiz where the final leaderboard with all the winners was displayed.< Players could use their mobile devices or laptops to participate – no app to download, as myQuiz is a cloud-based platform. To join the quiz the players had three options: follow the link published on the organizer's event page; go to myquiz.org and enter the quiz code; or scan a QR code using their mobile device. myQuiz platform was designed to allow full client's branding customization and integration as a white label solution. In addition, myQuiz has multiple built-in options for advertising integration, which means that players are able to see ads during the game. While brands and sponsors can track who has actually seen their ads and adjust their marketing efforts accordingly. The platform also enables storing all the players data: who played the quiz and how much each player scored for each question is captured and can be exported for future follow-up. myQuiz is based on Microsoft Azure and .NET technologies, enabling the reliability, availability, speed, and scalability of the game. The platform can support up to 100,000 concurrent players per event. The digital platform has become a tool for the new communication landscape. It unites users with an exciting game and access to new knowledge, and allows business to talk about itself in a non-trivial way and to receive live feedback from the audiences of both online and offline events on any scale.
